Abrahams Meese Lawyers (AML) was founded in 1983, when Sam Abrahams and Greg Meese merged their existing practices.

Since the year 2000, the firm has been based in Melbourne’s CBD, first under the stewardship of Sam Abrahams and then, since 2014, of Andrew Norman who had spent more than a decade developing his expertise in all aspects of Abrahams Meese Lawyers’ practice.

In 2020, Abrahams Meese merged with Proxenia Legal and welcomed Julian Wyatt as a partner, greatly expanding its dispute resolution capability, including by offering clients in Australia and abroad Dr Wyatt’s rare expertise in arbitration, international law and cross-border litigation.

Abrahams Meese Lawyers (AML) now allows clients to draw on the services of Australian lawyers with broad capability and substantial expertise in property law and dispute resolution, a conveyancing and probate clerk, and access to a network of foreign lawyers in boutique firms across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North America and South America.

At Abrahams Meese Lawyers, we pride ourselves on offering friendly and extremely honest legal advice and representation that is always focused uniquely on our clients’ best interests.

We work in a highly cooperative environment in which lawyers informally pool their experience and ideas with each other and do not work to any billing targets or receive bonuses based on the value of the work they bring in.  Our clients not only have direct access to our senior lawyers, but also directly receive the benefit of our senior lawyers’ expertise.

Abrahams Meese Lawyers’ clients benefit from obtaining big-firm level legal expertise at a cost that reflects our low-cost boutique structure, with overheads kept to a minimum so that they need only pay for the time that it takes our lawyers to do the legal work that they truly need done.

We are small and independent, but bring a broad and international perspective, with a focus on getting our clients the help they need, including where it can be more efficiently provided by another lawyer (in Australia or overseas) with particular expertise and/or better-suited experience.
